Hand Tufted Crop Pure Wool Sculpted Carved Shaped Rug
I am forever stopping to photograph crops in fields. It is a running joke with anyone who is driving with me. Most of them know to keep lookout for them for me. I love the way that the different crops change texture, height and colour throughout the seasons.
This CROP rug was one of the first times that I had tried to sketch out my design before hand to get a feel for the shape, structure and colour of the final rug or wall hanging.
After the rug has been drawn up onto a sheet of clear plastic, this is then transferred to the stretched canvas in reverse as hand tufting is created from the back of the rug, shooting the individual colour tufts through the canvas to the front with a hollow tube at the from of the tufting gun and compressed air.
